C.A.R.E. is a non-profit organization offering transformative education, consulting and coaching services to underserved populations in our community who may not otherwise have access to unconventional or alternative attention approaches to their acute or chronic experiences of loss and trauma.
C.A.R.E. clients tend to be those individuals who are ready for relief from feelings of loneliness, isolation, sadness and grief; our clients are motivated to resolve feelings of alienation and are willing to risk experiencing belonging, purpose and meaning in their lives.
C.A.R.E. offers experiential attention education with the intention of rehabilitating each person’s innate capacity to attend to themselves; to attend to difficult and painful, repressed personal experiences as well as everyday joy and delight. Participants develop emotional maturity and self-acceptance, which allows living to resume.
While we extend a special invitation to veterans and their families, we will work with anyone who meets our criteria and is willing to make a commitment to participation in our program.
Attention:
from the Latin,
ad- "to"+ tendere - "stretch"
Sense of "taking care". . .
compassionate patience.
Related: tender, tenderness, attending
“At C.A.R.E. our offering is guided by the notion of "stretching" from an anchor or weight in one's own center toward a resonant point of connection in something or someone else.”
